Speaking of Laguna Beach...

Ok...so not Laguna, but the small and impoverished community of Corona Del Mar just north of Laguna. I was shooting here this past Sunday morning and then @JimFox texts me to meet him and @J. M. Livingston that same evening in Laguna. I see i missed out on the evening light.

BTW...I've had my Canon 35mm F/2 IS for ~6 months now. I nearly never use it. My god the sharpness at F/8 --> F/11. The detail and clarity is absolutely amazing!

I think you're referring to either the white water, rock face, or both. I may have brightened the white water a 1/4 stop. I cannot remember. I think I brightened the rock face 1/2 stop. The sun is nearly perpendicular to the front of that rock face and shining underneath some clouds behind me.

Hey Ryan,

Yep, almost Laguna Beach! You did hit my favorite beach though of Little Corona. I like how you chose to compose that rock with it splitting the light/shadow.

And I would say the light looks pretty realistic to me. When it comes in from that angle it's going to brighten up the foreground much more then the background.

My step grandmother had a house on Breakers Dr. back in the 60's I used to visit every summer. From what I can see online her house got replaced by something considerably less modest since those days.
