Perseid Meteor Shower 2021 - Anyone Photographing it?

Perseid Meteor shower in 2021 peaks on August 11th, though I have seen some people list August 11-13 as the window for peak. It’s near new moon so they should really be bright.

I am thinking on photographing Astro on both the 11th and 12th. I am in Nebraska working my way back to California, so my tentative plan is the Grand Canyon on the 11th and Joshua Tree on the 12th. But that can change as I am watching the weather.

After a meetup last night in Sedona for sunset with @Douglas Sherman and @Jeffrey i drove up to the Grand Canyon to photograph the meteor shower. I had decided on Lipan point because I like the angles there. I got up there about 11pm and set up to shoot, and i shot until 4am when clouds rolled in and it started to sprinkle. It will be a few days before I get to process any, I know I saw at least 1 huge meteor.

Some Astro websites are listing the 12th as the peak, so I am driving from the Grand Canyon to Joshua Tree to shoot the meteors tonight. It should be clear there, so clouds won’t be an issue, but heat will. I also looked at going to Death Valley, but it’s showing a high of 117 today and a low tonight of 90. It’s 15 degrees cooler in JT, so I will take that.

Anyone else shooting it tonight?

Its smoky with bad air quality here (in addition to very hot). The AQI reads 170 where I am. Not venturing out for this.

I am hoping to get up to Trail Ridge in RMNP late tonight and see what I can figure out, but I will be starting out in the dark as I have a previous engagement that will have me busy until after dark.
