It had been a bit cloudy last night, but I got a few windows through them to be able to capture the full moon.
The first image is when the moon was closer to the horizon and was this deep yellow/orange color. So it's not as sharp as it would be later once it had risen higher up to clear the muck along the horizon. But it's still pretty sharp I thought. One note on this, if you have ever taken a shot of the moon when it's colored like that, you might notice that your capture of it doesn't have any of the color, especially if you are shooting in Automatic WB like I do on my cameras. All you need to do since these types of shots are often taken as the day is ending, just change your WB in your Raw converter. In my case it's ACR to Daylight WB, and that color that you saw by eye, will pop back onto the moon automatically.
This second image was from when the moon had risen higher. I had to again wait for it to clear some clouds. This was about 2 hours after the moonrise, so it was up enough to clear the horizon muck and be nice and sharp.
