Ice Lake Sunset

The clouds were gathering for a bit of a storm, so the sunset wasn't the greatest, but as the sun got lower it started to burn through the clouds nicely. That turquoise green water of those lakes is just so awesome. I liked getting a reflection too as the wind died down for a bit.

All comments welcome,

Jim

I like this offset sunset light on the lake and the nice peak behind. The spectrum of blue to green at the backside of the lake on the right is amazing.

The reflected ice on the mountainsides almost makes the scene a bit busy. It's a beautiful reflection but almost too perfect as my focus gets distracted while following the comp line back to the peak.

Thanks Alan, I am glad you like the color in this.

As for the snow on the mountain sides, the whole purpose of getting in there this early in the season was the goal of getting the wildflowers and the snow on the mountain sides. I have seen this seen with and without snow, and without snow, the mountains are rather ugly compared to when there is still snow on them. I guess it doesn't work for everyone, but for me, the conditions were perfect. :)

I like the snow - its beautiful on the mountains. The reflection on the lake in front of the peak is what seems a little distracting.

Nice light and the traces of snow on the mountain always gives a certain personality to the mountains which bare one lack.

I do see where Alan is coming from as well.
