When the Elephant seals pup, the gulls do an excellent job of keeping the beach clean from the afterbirth.

Where was this captured? In California we have a huge Elephant Seal population that hangs out on the southern end of Big Sur, just north of San Simeon.

This Image was taken at the rookery just north of San Simeon 2 years ago. I hope these animals fared ok this year, in may be a bad pupping season for them with all the big surf.
