Some type of Fly

So many things are fascinating to me. I think a lot of the time we do not realize exactly what is around us. This one sitting on a shoot of a flower I was trying to photograph. Everything has a purpose and only my imagination can solve the why of all the spikes, hairs and feet on him/her.

This is a really nice macro shot. I am not generally a fan of flies but this is a good portrait of this one (where's my swatter?)

Great photo, Roger. If you need help with identification, post it to iNaturalist.org or put the date in location information in the description to help me figure it out. I'm sure this fly is the Golden Dung Fly (Scathophaga stercoraria) a fairly common fly in North America, Europe, and cool climates.
