Munching

I am not sure what the Bison are munching on as that grass looks pretty dead still in the post winter conditions.

This is from the Rocky Mountain Arsenal a wildlife preserve that is East of Denver. I took the 6 grandkids there to see a bunch of Bison and Deer. We were hoping for Bald Eagles, but didn't see any. The RMA is a fun place to go see these wildlife. It's basically an auto tour, but before you get to the Bison area which is fenced off, there are a bunch of lakes with trails around them.

This could have gone in Wildlife, but I was trying to stay wide enough that these could qualify as a landscape that has some Bison in it. I have some tighter shots that I will post in Wildlife, and I also have some even wider images with Bison in it. But this one caught my eye first to start with.

Cows don't seem to have an issue eating hay which is basically dry grass so it makes sense the bison can find a meal here. Idyllic looking scene.

That's true.... I guess I was thinking that I would prefer to eat nice green grass myself as opposed to brown dry grass.... 🤪

Jim, this is a nice herd. I like the storm clouds as the backdrop, I only saw these in the Yellowstone park.

Thanks Oliver. Somehow the bison in Yellowstone seem like the coolest. The location must lend to that. But I have seen Bison all over the west. The Tetons, the Badlands of SD, in Minnesota, Colorado has multiple herds scattered across the state. But they are always cool no matter where I find them.
