I used to think "I will get it on the way back" but now I make myself stop and consider whether this would make a better image than my previous intention. Ken

Lastly I had gone to this location to get a better vantage point into a Lakeland valley when I saw the fell ponies.

Ken, excellent images all—love the final image’s composition—with the pony, a complete surprise! And love the light captured in your first image—beautiful.

I shoot a lot on ventures where I just wander out and follow some road with no intention of actually having a destination besides getting back home at some point when I get tired of finding things to shoot so those captures don't really qualify. The biggest problem I had when I was driving places with my RV was not being able to find a place I could stop along the road given the size of the vehicle. All that aside I did find things to shoot while driving somewhere else on more than a few occasions.

Mt. St. Helens from a viewpoint along the Curly Creek Road:

I am like you Alan. Most of my photography involves wandering around hoping to find something that interests me. There are exceptions eg specific waterfalls or a particular mountain that I have never been able to capture to my satisfaction. Ken

Alan, very interesting landscapes you’ve shared, I especially favor the Cape Horn and the Siuslaw River images—beautiful. I like your unexpected ”finds”—I think they all qualify for this Task! Nice variety and I do remember seeing your abandoned road near Bluff—nice to see it again!

Kyle, gorgeous images—they never fail to impress me. The “on the way” images are as striking as the planned. If I had to choose a favorite it might be the Mesa Arch/Dead Horse Point pair.

Interesting task. These are on two consecutive days however as the second image was shot at sunset and the first the following sunrise.

On my way to Bend, OR to visit Sparks Lake.

Jameel, two beautiful images—love the reflection and colors in the first and the gorgeous colored sky in the second—love the distant mountains on the horizon.

Dan, five great images you’ve shared. I especially LOVE the Rocky Creek Bridge image with the tree branches creating the perfect “vignette” border—a very beautiful scene. My other favorite perhaps is the multi-colored, multi-layered Campground landscape! The first and last images depicting such beautiful clouds are special also too.

So many wonderful images and what a fun task. I tend to do this a lot while riding one of my many motorcycles, but the images always have a bike in them. LOL
Found a few without a bike.

Sonny, hope you weren’t too late for your Christmas dinner—a very beautiful landscape captured and well worth being a little late—glad you stopped! I really like the both the images featuring the bridges shot from interesting viewpoints—nice!
