I have been watching our hyacinths getting ready to open up for several days now and they finally decided to start their color show.

Thanks Ben - it really feels good to see them at this point.Love it I hope I can get some of my spring flowers
That looks like a wonderful day to play on a water slideThat's a really great display Alan! It sounds like spring is in the air up there!
On the other hand, here in Colorado I think it's Winter that is getting serious. He is a view looking down a few minutes ago at a local hotel which has a water slide that I took the grandkids too last night.
Ha ha, it's indoors in the hotel. So the kids are blissfully sliding down it and playing in the pool, while I am outside cleaning off the cars and the 1 foot drifts behind my daughters minivan. That looks like a wonderful day to play on a water slide![]()
I am likely going to swap out the winter wheels on our cars this weekend and have already stashed the ice/snow scrapers for the summer. I like the idea of capturing snow capped peaks with a telephoto lensHa ha, it's indoors in the hotel. I bet! That sounds like a plan! My plan this week is to go hike up snow covered trails to ice covered lakes in the Rockies.I am likely going to swap out the winter wheels on our cars this weekend and have already stashed the ice/snow scrapers for the summer. Thanks Jameel - we have a couple of days of no precipitation coming up this week although there may be some flurries by the weekend.Looks nice Alan. We should be getting some serious spring weather soon - had a little dusting of snow a couple of days back but thankfully didn't last the day.
Thanks Danny - you can regale us with your fall leaves while those of us north of the equator yearn for colorful bloomsNice burst of colour there Alan. Totally different seasons here and not long before we head into winter. Autumn at the moment.
I'm a boring bird and motorsports shooter AlanThanks Danny - you can regale us with your fall leaves while those of us north of the equator yearn for colorful blooms![]()
For the record I shot the hyacinths at the top handheld with an EF100-400 lens.I'm a boring bird and motorsports shooter AlanNowhere near as versatile as you folks and the shortest lens I have is the 300 F/2.8L and that's too short
Otherwise I use my phone camera and that's not the best.
All the best your way Alan.
Thanks Beth - we don't have flakes falling but the nice sunny day I shot this on has long since disappeared for another round of cool and wet.beautiful flowers. spring isn't quite that far along yet here, but it isn't too far off.
