Long Road Trip

3500 miles in two weeks and four states including Texas which is like it's own continent. I've processed just one image so far and this is it, a sunrise near Saguaro NP, Arizona.

The old Jeffrey magic at work here. The sky has perfect luminosity and so does the general foreground while the dominant cactus has just enough additional luminosity and glow to make them glow. I don’t think this as much about you knowing the technique (although that is extremely important) but that you know when to stop

I think I have a tendency to brighten the ground too much, but I like how the light on the ground seems totally appropriate for the color in the sky.

Embrace the concept of adequacy.

Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

It's more important to know what not to do, than to know what to do.
