On the east side of GNP, a well photoed place of course, but always a must stop. Might have been better taken higher up to separate Goose Island from the distance shore, but then I'd lose the FG, nonetheless a beautiful place.

Yep, you certainly caught the feeling of a storm here Zeph! I like the foreground, so I think your lower perspective was a good choice.

Nice view of the lake - and the storm.

On the east side of the park I have learned to not fear the dark skies of storms approaching from the west as much as ones coming in from the north. The continental divide does a pretty good job of breaking up storms from the west but ones coming down from the north are usually an arctic express.

I can imagine that wind whipping in my face. Love the ray of light breaking through. Nicely done.
You know that little hook on the underside of tripods? I had my heavy backpack hooked to that because the wind was blowing so hard...
Thanks for commenting Guy...

The foreground certainly made the POV well worth it. I like the dynamic nature of the pic with the elements of the cloud, shaft of light and wave all contributing to telling the story. Nice scene, Zeph!

Ahhhh, I knew it was St. Mary's from the thumbnail. That green water, the crepuscular rays, the clouds, all perfect. Such a beautiful place.
