Snow Geese Galore

From my trip to the Bas del Apache national Wildlife Refuge in New Mexico. Two views of the same lake showing some of the enormous number of the snow geese and Light Geese on refuge when we were there. There are several lakes in the refuge.

I always wanted to go there when I had bird photography gear but it was a long way from Spokane. Now that I live in Utah I have switched from birds to landscape

Hi Ben: Why not do both. While I am out bird shooting I often find some nice landscape shots and also the reverse! One never knows what he will come across, for example, several years ago I was taking landscape shots at Long Lake approaching the outlet and a bull moose walked right into the stream in front of me. I dash back to my car (about 1/4 mile) and grabbed 50-500 mm lens and got back in time to grab a few moose shots, a first for me at that time.

You're in luck, Larry - an incredible amount of birds.

I made a pano of the two shots above to show the expanse the birds on the lake. This image does not show the whole lake. This was the largest lake on the refuge and there were several smaller lakes filled with geese. I did this Pano in LightRoom.
