And not one I would like to try, way too much grit!A new twist on sunscreen
Thanks for the comment Alan, appreciated.Nice portrait of the pup's nap.
Thanks Kevin comment appreciated. The Northern Elephant Seals return to 2 beaches in Central and Northern California every year to mate and have their calves. There are up to 20,000 seals in this migration and starts in November and lasts until February when the seals are weaned and start to learn to swim and are the last to leave. The beaches are marked no trespassing so that the seals are not bothered by over eager photographers and sight seers, there is a hefty fine for violating the no trespassing regulation.Great shot Larry, I didn't know there were Elephant Seals in California, so something new learnt![]()
Thanks Jim and these were taken near San Simeon on one of our road trips through LA were we visited my twin brother and family for a few days. We drove up the coast from LA and stayed over night at Pismo Beach. We caught sight and photographed the seals at San Simeon, that was quite an experience and one I that is one my bucket list for a redo!Very cool seeing it covered in sand! Good job Larry. If this is by San Simeon it's a favorite area of mine and I usually visit it a couple of times a year. Pismo Beach is one of my favorites towns and they have the worlds best clam chowder there at the Splash Cafe. Pismo also has some very photogenic sea caves that are fun to access.
