Can't say I have ever seen one of these before either. Will the bloom stick around long enough to see the lupines all around it blooming as well? That would make a nice contrast to the intense reds.

Thanks for all the kind comments! These are just now starting to "bloom" and will be around for another month or so. They are stunning and easily spotted on the forest floor. It will be interesting to see what the surrounding flowers will be as the month progresses.

I suppose the tallest would be about 11-12 inches or so.
