A little West Virginia color

This is courtesy of TimMc suggestion.
Was able to get to Babcock State Park with a slight excursion but
didn't get there til mid day so not optimal light, a little harsh.
Tamed it a little in P/S.
Would love to get back there under ideal circumstances

Take with 5DMkII. Also took shot with MF film that will post later

Hey Dan,

Wow, I am jealous!!!!!!

That is a really cool place, I think you did pretty well considering the harsh lights. The harshness is noticed most in the rocks, so although it's not bad how you processed it, my next step would be to try a pano crop where you crop all of the rocks to the top of that one big rock. That will really limit any thought of harsh light I think.

That's awesome that TimMc helped you with how to get there.

Nice - there is an old grist mill about an hour from my house but it isn't as nice as this at all. A cloudy day would help tame that light a bit. It looks like you still have time for the colors to fully explode as well. Looking forward to another session.

In addition to Jim's suggestion, I'd also experiment with doing some burning of the rocks and a slight vignette.

Did you use a CPL? It would have helped with cutting down the effects of the harsh light.

Alan, it was unfortunate to only have one day there. I should have planned on a "wake up" nearby. Not sure when I will get back there.
The sky only started showing clouds when we had to leave. Thanks for the comments

Unfortunately didn't bring filters. It is the one thing I actually forgot. I did bring three cameras though

That's sweet, Dan. A little saturation and a bit more highlights on the structure and the bridge might make this pop a bit more.
