Some WOW color here! The sky & reflection are to die for. Can I assume this is digital?
First time for me to see those tall Sugar Pines and their enormous cones. We just don't have trees like this back here in TN.I like how the light illuminates the trunks of the tall pines along the river. Neat scene.
Thank youTHere's good reason to revisit that scene. It's just beautiful. Same here, loving the color and reflection in the water.

Ben, that is what drew us to camp here. We like the lesser visited parks. We day tripped over to Sequoia next door which was very nice and an experience in and of itself with the really big trees but Kings Canyon was spectacular. I would really like to go back and spend about 3 or 4 days in the back country hiking up into the mountains. There is just no roads up there so only way to get up and photograph the alpine lakes is to back pack up there which is a multi-day/3 day minimum commitment. I true backpacker and hiker paradise. We did a bit of day hiking and really enjoyed the back country hiking with plans (hopefully) to go back again into the mountains.A seldom seen NP but this is a good reason to see more of it.
Thank you TomNice shot. I like the complement of the blue and yellow.
Your right, there IS too many beautiful places here in the US.Hey Jon, I am glad you dug back through and found this one. It's a real beauty! The blue/gold complimentary colors are great. That lighting in this just really makes the scene come alive.
I have been wanting to get into the back country of Kings Canyon for years. There just isn't enough time to go to all of the beautiful places we have here in the US. Another option for the backcountry that I know some people have done, is you can hire outfitters to take your care back there on mules, so all you are hiking with is essentially day backs. For some people that's a real life saver.
Thank you BobBeautiful
Thank you for the kind words, DeanVery nice Jon.. you captured some beautiful light with a very nice composition. Looks like a great place to visit !
Thank youlove this, the mountain is beautiful with the warm light on it and nicely framed between the trees.
