Another Arch with Reflected Morning Light

Staying away from Mesa Arch, I got a not-too-early start this morning to visit another arch I hoped would have some nice reflected light. At 18 degrees, my phone's battery got totally drained (& it was in the car!). I couldn't find an angle that isolated it from the surrounding canyon walls, so settled for a sunstar.

Nice result for a point of view you "had to settle for" I like both the indirect light as well as the rather direct light sun star.

Sunny, it's Corona Arch. About 1 mile walk in. 2 other people were there for part of the time I was there, then 2 others were on their way in as I was leaving. Winter is a good time to visit it. I would never go during the "on" season.
You are quite the road warrior! I used to base myself out of Bluff for MV shoots & that made for some long days.

Ben, most images/videos you used to see had people jumping off & swinging. Fortunately, it is now banned.

Love that reflected light on this Monika. This would be perhaps the best time of year to visit that arch. Good job on working the sun with this. Were you able to also get a sunstar with the sun on the inside of the arch? This view is awesome, but I wonder what the sunstar would look like next to the reflected light portion of the arch?

Beautiful. I'm looking forward to getting down south next month, but do worry about the batteries in my Sony, will carry them in an inside the parka pocket I guess.

If I hadn't dawdled at Bowtie Arch, letting the people who walked in with me (& their dog played with mine) go on ahead & have Corona to themselves for a bit, I might have gotten there early enough for that. But I did so I didn't. I think I would have had to have been set up & all ready to go before the sun disappeared. Where I was, all I had to do was shift a little. I don't know, maybe that would have been the case on the other side?

Carry them right next to your body & they should be fine. Where are you planning on going?
