I think March is the best time of year. snow levels melting and waterfall is usually pretty impresive this time of year. A lot cooler for the longer hike, can get a little dicey when the temps are in the upper 90s. I want to say there is about 800' of elevation gain and most of it is on the way...

Dan, Time flies, this was 5 years ago. Didn't think it was that long ago. The entrance is on the backside of Lake Oroville, it is a great Hike, about 9+ miles in and out. There is a campground near the entrance so if you are so inclined you can camp the night to do the hike early. Takes about...

Trent, This one was in Northern California/ southern Oregon along the border near the town of Klamath Falls. We were actually on a birding weekend that they used to host every year in February.

Interesting to think of the moon with different colors. from our perspective here it only looks mostly white as all we see is a reflection, but seeing this I can only imagine with all the different elements on the moon it would certainly have different hues in it. Thanks for making me think!

I actually have seen some photographers post pictures like this upside down, they have an interesting look to them. Pretty sure I have the correct orientation to it:cool:

Alan, Great job on these photo's. I love the more simplistic form of photo #2. The overcast sky plays wonderfully well with the chaotic nature of the Ice on the tree branches. Well done!

Enjoyed this Windless day on the pond with these 3 Black-necked Stilts.

Alan, Was only about 3' away. Would normally be a little bit skittish of them but think he was a younger one and just curious. Did not seem to pose any threat.
