Thanks Alan, I have to try hard to remember to look down to catch these scenes.
Thanks Jameel, you're right about the colors and patterns, and they're all around in upper Zion!
I just love rocks. Especially multi-colored rocks with interesting patterns in them. These rocks are in Zion National Park. They were photographed in early morning light with an 85mm macro lens. In post, I added contrast and some vibrance, but did not change color balance.
Thanks Alan! With the 590 filter and a channel swap, most green vegetation appears slightly orange, but a slight hue adjustment brings out the yellows, which complement a blue sky better.
Thanks Jim, it is worth a stop for sure for IR photo ops. Between here and the International Car Forest...
Hi Alan. Welcome to the group. I don’t think you so much suffer from AAACD as you follow your instincts to get the image you see in your minds eye. I would not call that an affliction just a methodology. And it obviously works for you!
I am thankful for desert places I can escape to. The Southern San Rafael Swell, Utah area is special to me. It's a two day drive from home but worth the time away, this place recharges my batteries if you know what I mean.
Proxy Falls in Central Oregon, on 9/11/25 I had the place to myself. This view is from about halfway up the falls on the right side, where you can scramble up the wet, mossy rocks if you dare.
Thanks Trent. I got hit by cars five times within five years back in the 90s, while riding around Portland. Nowadays I only ride indoors.
Right you are Alan. It would be ironic if memorials like this led to more accidents.
Thanks Jim, it was sad to see, but kinda happy too as the memorial made...
On my way to Burney Falls in Northern California, I noticed this ghost bike about 100 feet south of the road. It was sad to see in such a beautiful and peaceful place.
Here's a shot from Wahkeena Falls in the Columbia River Gorge. A favorite place to visit as you can get nice views right beside the parking area, but many more the further up the trail you go. A one mile hike with 1000 feet of elevation gain brings you to the superb Fairy Falls.
There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
