    Solar prominence from 8-24-22

Thanks Jim, if I have my scope in the a/c and go outside, sometimes it fogs up real quick but goes away pretty quick in the day time. At night I have to use dew heater all the time. I live in one of the most humid parts of Florida. My son lives a couple hundred miles north of me in Florida and...

    Solar prominence from 8-24-22

I was able to get out in the heat and humidity to get these shots of the sun. It was as hot as the pics look. I used the Lunt 60 Hydrogen Alpha scope. On the one shot, I blocked the surface out in post processing. I took a video using 60% of 1000 frames.

    First Saturn shot of 2022

I finally had a clear night to get out to image Saturn. I used the Celestron 9.25 Edge with a 2.5 Powermate and ASI224mc camera. I took 2000 frames and stacked 40%. I reprocessed the images using less frames and I think the colors came out better.

I usually take a look at the sun every morning. When I saw that large prominence just hanging out there I had to get my camera out.
