Last week without Eric. I miss his work as well. Here we go anyway. Pile on with your best images of things with wings.
Here are my big birds in breeding plumage.
Great Egret.
Anhinga
Cattle Egrets
I have always admired Jameel's processing and have always been looking for an image that would lend itself to that technique. I finally found that image in Zion National Park. It is the often-photographed ponderosa pine icon on a sandstone knob. Thanks for the inspiration, Jameel.
Eric is gone for the next two weeks doing bird photography. Unfortunately, I have to post this thread today because I am going to transition to a more powerful and up-to date computer over the next days and will not be up to speed until next week. So here goes. Please pile on with your...
In the early days of the discovery of Antelope Canyon you could go to the LeChee Chapter House 5 miles south of Page and get a permit to photograph upper antelope canyon. During the winter when this image was taken in 2003, there is usually no one else around. While wandering around I found...
It's that time of the week when we celebrate things with wings. Eric is still off photographing the spring migration in Ohio and Canada so I am going to start this off.
Like last week I am going to feature warblers but this time up close and personal.
Nashville Warbler
Magnolia Warbler...
Eric is out chasing warblers so here I am again. I owe most of my bird expertise to him and so I am going to post three birds from Magee Marsh in Ohio. Eric introduced me to these in May of 2017.
Blackburnian Warbler: One of the most sought-after warblers because of its beautiful markings...
I didn't get this published on Sunday because I was busy with Mother's Day activities with my daughter and my wife. So here is my contribution for this week. There is nothing more peaceful than a prairie sunrise with Big Bluestem grasses, especially if fog is associated with it. Here is one...
While walking around my daughter’s neighborhood I noticed that the acorn woodpeckers had stored acorns in the grid of the crosswalk. Quite inventive these birds are. No pecking holes and the source of the acorns is in a live oak twenty feet from the crosswalk.
While driving back home to Cottonwood from Sedona yesterday I spotted some Palmer's Penstemon up against red rocks along the road. I decided to go out and photograph them this morning because there was a nice overcast sky. The winter rains have caused lots of flowers to bloom along the roads...
Part of sunrise or sunset is the phenomenon known as Earth's shadow which occurs just before sunrise or after sunset. It appears during twilight, in the west before sunrise and the east after sunset. The shadow itself is blue and the sky just above it is pink as seen in the image below of...
I have been doing the "Wildflower Quickstep," driving from place to place to capture this wonderful spring in Arizona. Today's location is Peridot Mesa on he San Carlos Apache reservation. I have been here before, but this is an outstanding year with the variety and size of plants greater than...
There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
