Your basic mid day sunny landscape scene, but I like it. The upper Owens River in front of the Sierra Nevada in eastern California. iPhone 16 pro. And an aerial view of the river as it winds it's way towards Lake Crowley.
I'm trying to pick just one from each of the photo adventures I was fortunate enough to do last year...as well as a few local to me.
Canada in January
Antarctica in February
Mojave Desert
Lake Crowley, Eastern Sierra
The Colorado River through the Grand Canyon
Great Egret
Mono Lake...

Just one small section of high peaks of this long north to south Range of Light. Within is Mount Whitney, among many other named peaks. A favorite area of many including myself. So nice to wake up and look out to this!
Just returned from yet another visit to the Eastern Sierra for fall photography. Even though it is a mecca for many (and they were all out in force), I got a little bored seeing the same scenes and trees I know too well after nearly 40 years of doing this event. So I visited locations I seldom...
I'm going to call these landscapes even though the main subjects are not the land itself. I spent a week in North Dakota seeking old crapped out abandoned structures. Some were in better condition and some were outright dangerous to enter, which I did every time. It was certainly a different...
Not sure how to categorize these based on the subforms here. My first flight with the Mavic 4 Pro. It's more of a beast than the M3 and seems quieter and more stable. Some new controls are fun to use, though I didn't use them here. The overcast light was not a challenge for the DR testing...
Tooling round eastern California near Bishop, we found a great spot for the night on the bluff overlooking the Owens River snaking through this lovely little valley. A drone vertical pano.
Floating down the middle of the Colorado recently and the sky had a few ideas of its own. I was happy to get these conditions while on the water. Ten minutes later we got pelted with large hail and strong winds. Didn't last long, as is typical here. Of course, I titled this one "Impending Hail".
I just returned from a ten day river rafting adventure on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. We navigated 226 miles of the river. I've seen places few humans will ever get near. Incredible experience. Photographs only try to convey the awe...
While out photographing Snowy Owls in Canada recently, a large flock of Snow Buntings came by and flirted with us. It was a short opportunity but I made a few images of them.. Here are two I liked...
