    High Key at the beach

I don't do high key much, but this foggy day lent itself to it, especially in B&W.

    Sand Point Pano

Sand-Point-B-(369)-Pano by Jim Dockery posted Sep 1, 2018 at 6:07 AM I like the aerial perspective I got from the hill at the end of Sand Point in Olympic NP. Ten portrait orientation shots stitched in Camera Raw. Click photo for larger version.

    Bears on the Beach

I'll post more on this trip later, but had to throw this up. Just got back from 3 wonderful days at Sand Point in Olympic NP. Foggy the whole time, but at least no smoke. Having this little family pass us as they foraged down the beach was for sure the highlight. Luckily I was carrying my tripod...

    Off to Work with Friends

This guy seemed to have a few friends hanging around as he surveyed his work scene. :) An archive shot from Huntington Beach California that has me missing the beach while I am here in New Mexico. All comments are welcome, Jim

    Fingal Bay and Shark Island

Here's a view looking south from Tomaree headlands in Shoal Bay, Australia. Shoal Bay is about a 3 hour drive North of Sydney and was a really nice area to just hang around the beach. I hiked up the trail to this peak well before sunrise, hoping to capture some stars. The skies were cloudier...

    Dawn at Vik Beach

Taken at about 3:30am looking away from the rising sun. What caught my eye was the way the sand reflected the morning light when the waves receded back to the ocean. The contrast was interesting and the thought of a black and white landscape immediately came to mind.

    Dreamy

Hey guys! We were blessed with some clouds yesterday, so i had a chance to catch some. _DSC6525-SV20 by lionking posted Jul 6, 2018 at 12:55 AM I have to be honest, this is a bit experimental, so i have some doubts about this one, your C&C will be very helpful. Thank you for viewing. Cheers!

    Contain that Beam

Another from Big Sur up at Julia Pfeiffer Beach. This is a rock structure just to the south where the main key hole is. This one also has a super cool opening in it, but it's not as dramatic because there is no beam (that I have seen that actually ends up shining through the opening, probably...

    Volcano in a cup

Hey guys! Got lucky with some light tonight, the waves were tired, but the low tide exposed some cool stuff: _DSC6261-SV20 by lionking posted Jul 4, 2018 at 12:02 AM Thank you for viewing. Cheers.

    Flocking

One from a few years back that I have finally processed... This is in Huntington Beach California and the seagulls were flocking around like this was the Birds movie by Alfred Hitchcock. All comments are welcome, Jim

    Beaming in from a Distance

Up at Julia Pfeiffer Beach that beam through the keyhole of the rock is really cool, but I also found it was interesting to shoot it from a bit further back and wider to get the whole rock in view. There wasn't a lot of clouds this evening, but then you don't really want much in the way of...

    Another kind of Beam

I have been posting some different Beam type shots in the City Forum, well here is probably a more familiar beam. I found a bunch of these shots in the archives that I had shot but never processed. This is from Julia Pfeiffer Beach in Big Sur California and it best shot in January...

The average dog is a nicer person than the average person

I cannot ask for a better element than this, I'm sure they also enjoyed the sunset!

    Spouting Off

A couple of shots from Laguna Beach and down by the Montage Hotel area. When the tide gets high enough the water seems to spout out against the rocks. All comments are welcome, Jim

Hole In The Wall Sunset/Moonrise Panorama

    Splash

From Little Corona in SoCal, this is an archive shot from testing out my D800 when I first got it. I liked the color version, but as I looked at it today, I thought it might have potential as a B&W, so here it is. :) All comments are welcome, Jim

    South of Shi Shi

I spent a wonderful 3 summer days at The Point of Arches a few years ago. The highlight was a hike south when we had the whole place to ourselves. The morning fog made for some great atmosphere and worked out for some fantastic rainbows through the trees as the sun streamed through. We had a bit...

    Little Corona

Here is one from the archives from Little Corona beach in SoCal. Normally I pull more detail out of the rocks, this one I let the rocks silhouette as a change. All comments are welcome, Jim
