We woke up late to a nice sunrise starting. I got up and made coffee, but didn't think it would amount to much. Just when I was pouring my cup it peaked and I hurried to get the drone up. Shoulda waited on the coffee - I missed the best of it, but the left overs were still nice.

Last week I was first tempted to fly my drone up by this nice thunderhead over the mountains. I really like the glimpse of the mountains beneath the clouds and the veil of rain.
I landed and waited a bit before taking off again to look toward Lake Stevens when the color got better.

The serendipity finding a nice unexpected sunset with my drone a couple days ago got me psyched to fly more. When a few clouds looked a bit promising I figured I might as well take er up again since I can just take off from my backyard and shoot up for a view. When I first looked out the window...
I'm a great believer in serendipity in my photography. I often set out with a plan or goal, but try to stay open to opportunities and go with the flow, which can mean changing the plan and not meeting the original goal.

We are lucky to be enjoying a beautiful day up here in the Pacific NW, starting with this sunrise. We sure felt for all the travelers we saw on the news last night. I hope you all enjoy a nice day with friends and family - safe travels. Jim
