Just when I had thought that Fall Color had left me behind and I had missed the bus, I found Fall's Last Gasps in New Mexico. As I was leaving the Los Alamos area to head up to Colorado I spotted this area that was being backlit by the low early morning sun as it broke through the clouds.
So I...
Kerry Park is one of the best and most photographed views of downtown. We were out for an urban hike: up and over Queen Ann Hill almost all on stairs and trails, into town on the trolly, then back along the waterfront in Myrtle Edwards Park.

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I was not able to shoot any fall colors so I have nothing to add. Though I could still...
Hi! Its beed a busy month! From Tetons 3 weekends in September to my home away from home in SW CO. Here is a little fall in the Tetons. The weekend before last I went storm chasing because well "snow in the Tetons" I couldn't pass up that opportunity.

Well...Jim - I did get a...
The day after our autumn wedding in Telluride, Colorado, my wife and I, and a couple of our friends, drove out to the Uncompahgre National Forest in the San Juan Mountains to do some camping as part of our unofficial honeymoon. The next morning I woke early to hike out to a nearby lake for...
The Focus this Friday is on Fall Colors!
Whether I like it or not, fall colors are quickly approaching. So to help give a tease and a taste, please share a past Fall Color image or two or three... :)
Please add them to this thread,
Jim
I will start with a few.
This is from Convict Lake in...
This is one from last fall at the Dallas Divide in SW Colorado by Ridgway. I came back to a stormy sunrise and got some pretty cool light.

3 of us newly minted FW members were in this relatively locally located state park a few years ago (long before FW was a thing), and happened to catch the trees in a pretty sweet display. I have been to this location a number of times in the fall, and it almost never disappoints. It is also not...
While I am processing many mighty valleys and mountains from my trip to Colorado this fall, sometimes the simple sceens can be a nice contrast. Here are 2 atypical shots I ran across in the last couple days.
One is just on the side of the Lost Dollar Road looking at some aspen woods, the other...
Looking to travel to the New Hampshire/Vermont area for the first time this coming fall 2019. From what I can see, it looks like the White Mountain area of NH is the first area to get color (early October) and then within a week other areas color up, with the northern areas first followed by...
I was just going through some IR images from this past fall and came a cross this one. I didn't think it would be much of a image so I had never processed it, turns out I love the way the colors came out...sometime you just never know.

This was from a week ago along Hwy 1 by Santa Maria on the way up the coast to Big Sur in California. There are tons of vineyards now along that road and I had been seeing come fall colors among them. So when I spotted this, I made the next exit to stop for a few and shoot it.

From back in SW Colorado at the Dallas Divide, while I missed snow on the peaks I did like the late afternoon sun with the contrasts it then provided on the mountains. The few clouds floating lazily through the scene seemed to compliment everything well.
All comments are welcome,

It's hard to believe but Fall Color in Colorado was 2 months ago already. Time sure flies fast!
This is from SW Colorado outside of Ridgway on CR 5. My #1 photo was a cool little private road I found off CR 5, either Dean or Bart has posted a similar view already. And as a note, if you...
This is from Chimney Rock in SW Colorado and the sunset was turning golden a month ago during fall colors. This is actually a bit pre sunset as the sun was starting to turn some of the clouds golden along with anything it touched just before it set.
All comments are welcome.

I had a process that I wanted to try out and spent too long looking through my bank of photos, until I came across this one taken back in September, and thought it would work great for what I wanted to try. (color image, motion blur up, same black & white image, motion blur down, a little color...
There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
