My wife and I did our nearly annual hike up to Mt. McCausland/Lake Valhalla yesterday. Some color along Hwy 2 on the way up, although it's never outstanding on the west slope. The blueberry plants near Stevens Pass up above 4,000 ft, are very red though and the berries are delicious! Mid...
Taking panos is so easy with a drone that I almost always do so when taking pictures. For this one I started looking almost straight down, it gave me vertigo looking at my phone realizing how big and steep the cliff just below me was! You can see the little lake I camped at and my red jacket...
I've already posted a version of this scene in the landscape forum, but hadn't processed this one. Like Jim said in the first one it would have been nice to include the whole mountain in the reflection, this one does. Two images stacked, sky 25 sec., earth 79 sec., ISO 3200, Sony A7rII + Batis...
I hiked up to this little lake/tarn on the side of White Chuck mountain hoping to find a relatively easy place to take my wife for a nice night. I've looked down on this spot from the summit a couple of times and thought it would be cool to get over there sometime. With the crowds on the well...
I know some of you don't care for figures in a landscape so here is a pure sunrise over Lake Casidy I shot before my wife and I got on our paddle boards, that's Mt. Pilchuck to the right of the sun hiding in the clouds.
Sony RX100 IV, 4 verticals stitched in ACR
My wife and I got up early on my birthday to be on little Lake Casidy at sunrise. I was worried we'd missed the best of it, but It all worked out great. Lots of birds, and even a beaver was spotted. I very carefully brought my little Sony RX 100 IV in the chest pocket of my wind shirt. I thought...
My wife and I got a couple of inflatable paddle boards last summer. Living close to Lake Stevens made it a no brainer for casual stress free exercise. We are never going to be extreme (we don't go when there's much wind or waves). A few more miles from our house is little Lake Casidy which...
This is Emerald Lake, it's up in Rocky Mountain National Park RMNP over by Bear Lake. It's a pretty short 2+mile but super beautiful hike. There is lot's of great waterfalls and cascades along the way and you pass several lakes on the way up there.
It's really a bit of a hidden jewel for...
I just posted an earlier version of this in Landscape, but figured I should spread the love to this neglected forum. Taken with my Mavic Pro 2 this pano was made from 8 frames (two rows of four) each frame made from a burst of 5 that are stacked and median blended to deal with noise. This one is...
Another drone view from above my house, note Mt. Rainier behind. I'd moved this folder off my lap-top into an external drive to make room for more pictures and forgot about it until yesterday. On another note I just sold my first drone shot to a neighbor down at the lake who saw one I posted on...
Due to grey rainy weather I haven't been flying my drone much lately. Sunrise on the 30th was spectacular and there was no wind so I got it out. Mt. Rainier on the left, Olympics on the right. This pano was made with 8 frames, each made with 5 shots in burst mode that are stacked and median...
