    Thanks to my muse

Almost missed this sunset down in the basemen at my computer. My wife called me up to see it, I ran down to get the drone, rushed out and got it up to grab this. Skyline L-R: Cascades, Mt. Rainier, Sky Scrapers of Seattle, Olympics, Puget Sound. Lake Stevens below.

    Morning Kayaker

Yesterday I posted a color shot taken a bit later when the sunrise color was at it's best. Still gray at this point so a B&W conversion was in order. I think the lone kayak fisherman makes it.

    Sweet Sunset!

Yesterday I had my Jeep packed and ready to go for a birthday weekend towards SW Colorado. I had lot's of family commitments with the Grandson in a couple of musical plays during the day. But my intention was to leave immediately after his 2pm performance. Unfortunately by the time it was over...

    Cloudy Day at Heather Lake

This popular little hike is mobbed in the summer so I never go then. Last Monday I had it mostly to myself on a cool and cloudy day. Ciffs and clouds above the lake Symetry Cloud Play Drone View

    The Moon and Clouds Dancing

From out at Dowdy Lake in July. I have posted some photos from there. While the grandkids and my daughter were snuggled up in our tents, I grabbed my gear to head down the short distance to the lake shore and this cool pile of rocks. The moon was just about full if I remember, but I wasn't going...

    Dowdy Lake

I went last week and took the grandkids to Dowdy Lake in Northern Colorado. It's a fishing lake with no swimming allowed, so there were lot's of people with kayaks and other types of boats in it. That made for some cool compositions with the kayaks pulled up on shore. All comments are welcome, Jim

    Rainbow Sunset

As I was finishing up videoing my granddaughter Dancing With Elephants | Focal World we both saw a rainbow start to appear, so we ran over to the lake that was 100 yards away and just enjoyed about 15 minutes of rainbow glory as it melded with the sunset. This is a 2 shot pano. All comments...

    A Peaceful Sunset

This is at Poudre Open Space in Greeley Colorado. They have a couple of nice sized lakes there. This is a video I did the other day. Taken with the GoPro Hero 9 Processed in Movavi All comments are welcome, Jim

    Hike to Gem Lake

Here is a short video tour of the hike to Gem Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. I took this on Monday. It was captured in 4k on the GoPro Hero 9, and put together in Movavi. Be sure to check out our Video Section here as there are a lot of unviewed or little viewed videos in there. Video |...

    Lake Wenatchee

My wife and I were X-skiing at Lake Wenatchee yesterday. Just brought my iPhone since we were cruising in the trees except for this one view point of the lake.

    Mt. Rainier & Bench Lk.

A steep scrappy spur trail leads off of the Snow Lake route to this view. Not much room to move around, especially in this social distancing time, but there was only one other hiker when I arrived and she was packing up to go so I had it to myself for a while last summer. Another shot that got...

    Sunset from above my House

Last week I was first tempted to fly my drone up by this nice thunderhead over the mountains. I really like the glimpse of the mountains beneath the clouds and the veil of rain. I landed and waited a bit before taking off again to look toward Lake Stevens when the color got better. Not my...

    Drone Serendipity

I'm a great believer in serendipity in my photography. I often set out with a plan or goal, but try to stay open to opportunities and go with the flow, which can mean changing the plan and not meeting the original goal. Yesterday afternoon I walked over to our high school play fields to...

    Reflective

This is from 2 months ago somewhere in Nebraska on my way to Minnesota for Fall Colors. As I was driving, the clouds and the sun and that look to them like they were going to make music together at sunset. So I was keeping an eye out for a lake as there had been plenty to be seen along I-76. I...

    Blue Lake

One of the most popular hikes off of Hwy. 20 in the North Cascades, esp. in the fall when the larches turn color. An easy 2+ miles and 900 ft. elevation gain. I missed the peak color, but enjoyed the contrast with the snow, which also kept the crowds manageable. I heard that there were cars...
