Interesting how far out of plumb the stair handrail support is in this scene. It draws attention almost immediately since we typically expect an embedded support like that to be parallel with the rest of the vertical lines in the structure..

I was thinking more along the lines of what a neat hook to grab the viewer's eyes. Embrace awkward - it works in this case
