4x5 Technical Pan -Test Shot

A few days ago I bought a few boxes of 4x5 Technical Pan from Ebay. I LOVE Tech pan in 35mm format and wanted to try my hand at using it in 4x5.

Today I shot a couple of shots to see if the Technical Pan was still good. It was just a quick shot a couple minutes down a local trail, so nothing special. But, from this exposure, I can see that I'm going to LOVE shooting the rest of the 4x5 Tech Pan I have. The same great emulsion that I've come to know in 35mm, just on a much larger scale.

Shot on a Zone VI 4x5 and Fujinon SW 125mm F5.6 lens and developed in Rodinal 150:1 for 7 minutes.

Looks good to me. Probably hard to really see all the advantages at web size, but the tonality and detail is great.

Hey Andrew, that's great that the film looks good and ready to use. I like the simple scene that you captured with it, very nice detail in the foreground and the clouds are really sweet with the way they seem to be dancing through the sky. If you decided to keep this as more then a test shot, I would content aware fill in the upper left corner that burnt in too much. Because while this may have been a test shot for you, there is a lot to like in this one.

Thanks Ben and Jim. Jim yeah all I did on this one was adjust the contrast and get rid of dust specks. The old film holder I was using probably had a little bit of a light leak on that corner, the edge of the film was fogged right there.

Really like the look of this film. I have mainly been shooting TMAX & some Delta 100.
I might take a look at getting a box.
