99.8% Moon - 2021/01/28

Last night about midnight while I was working away on Timelapses, I looked outside to see how cloudy it might be since within an hour after sunset last night the sky had gotten socked in. To my surprise the sky was pretty clear and I could see the moon! Now about this time as you can imagine, it was almost straight up, which made for a pain to compose for it on the tripod, but I did it.

It's a 99.8% full moon at this point, so I figured close enough to a full moon.

This is at 600mm on the D850 in DX mode. It was a video of 795 frames, I used half of them and stacked them in Autostakkert, and then did some preliminary sharpening in Registax before finishing up in Photoshop.

With shooting so fast, there is no need to track. It's just put it on the tripod and go. It's position has to be changed every few minutes to try and keep it close to the center, but that's it.

This looks nice to me, Jim but I am not an astrophotographer. Did you edit it after Jameel's comment?

Nice Jim, you are getting adept at this. I would say to my eye this might be just a tad over-sharpened (easy to do in Registax) as it has a little bit of an overly 'crispy' look to me...You might just try backing off on the wavelet sharpening a teeny bit and see what you get. It may not be an improvement but worth a look perhaps.
