A good day.

Wow - that's a huge set of nice images. Almost hard to pick out favorites with this many images in one post. The overall balance of light in the first image does seem to stand out for my eyes. As you said in the title - A good day.

Hey Craig, I am on the road so for now just a quick comment to say I sure like these.

Also, check your conversation if you can, I sent you one last week. :)

That does look like a crisp beautiful day with great clouds. Don't know if you do slide shows, but these would sure blend together beautifully.

Wow, I am finally getting a chance to get back to these. You sure got around on Oct 3. It looks like the Dallas Divide, CR 5, CR7 and Owl Creek Pass? That was a busy but very fruitful day for you.

Let me see if I can pick some favorites.

#1, 6, 7 and 10 really jump out at me. All are great, but those 4 really separate themselves I think.

It will be interesting to see your timelapse. That's something I haven't attempted yet, but I have seen some really cool work done in regards to them.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I was out of town, on a cruise last week. Didn't take many pictures - mostly relaxing. On rare occasion I do sky replacements,

Jim, you guessed most of the locations right on. 4 was on the highway from Ridgway to Ouray.

Craig,

Stupendous set - only nitpick comment is that so many wonderful images it is hard to do them all justice in a single post.

All are good; here are my comments.

#1 - This is a wall hanger image. Just fantastic in about every way. Great view, wonderful light, great sky, fantastic colors, really a killer shot.

#2 - Very nice shot, just maybe overshadowed by some of the other stronger images in this set for me.

#3 - I love the fantastic color and great detail in the foreground trees. The Structures add some interest, and I like the view into the distance too. You really snagged some great light in this one

#4 - This is very nice, I experimented with cropping a little off the bottom foreground and liked the result, just an idea.

#5 - Great view with nice colors and clouds add some drama

#6,#7 - Silly for me to say not having been there but on my monitor at least these almost seem 'too hot' saturation-wise. But then also, could these 2 be stitched together to make an even bigger single image? That could be cool to see!

#8 - Nice, again only overshadowed by some of the other great images in this set

#9 - Looks like some lens flare reducing your overall contrast on this one perhaps? A nice scene though in any case.

#10 - Very nice - really sweet light and fantastic clouds with some great colors. Probably my 3rd favorite after #1 and then #3.

Really an AMAZING single day of shooting I would say!

Thanks for the feedback and comments. My monitor is pretty well calibrated, but I know what you mean about the yellow saturation or vibrance - it's easy to get too much of it. My second monitor, which is "cheaper" tends to push the saturation further where my "main" monitor has a flatter look. I also think the small size of the posted images here often does not do justice to the finished product. I do struggle with the right balance on those massed aspens.

Craig,

This is likely more of a situation of 'I wasn't there, so it is hard to believe how amazing it was' than anything else. I was looking at these on my calibrated monitor, although to be fair it is well beyond when it should be re-calibrated. In nay case, a truly wonderful set of images. I would have been proud to have captured any one of them myself.
