A Grande Entry

For a landscape photographer visiting Patagonia for the first time, it is hard to not allow this part of the range to dominate your desires. It took many days of waiting for Mt. Fitz Roy to make an appearance through disappointing weather. And then this appears. These moments become more valuable as a result. Still coping with the fact that I actually made this image.

EDIT: This piece of colorful light lasted no more than ten seconds.

Wow - this needs to be printed Large.

The biggest problem I see in getting an image like this one is wondering what you will ever do to top this

As others say how can you possibly improve on this

a scene like this has no comparison. Mt Whitney the Tetons and others have the same issue. But tell me how I could improve on this?

but some shapes and colors will hold their headsup and steal a show,

Jeffrey no matter this is priceless

Very special, Jeffrey. Fitzroy is notorious for bad weather. Climbers may spend 3 weeks in a tent waiting for the weather to clear and it never does.

Hey Jeffrey,

What a totally amazing image! That's a location I can only dream of. I had thought of going there, but not sure if I will have time to get there or not now.

And that's amazing that the color only lasted 10 secs. Glad you were ready for when the color popped!

Was it fall colors when you were down there?

Thanks Jim. Yes, fall colors, temps, and winds.
