A Pinnacled Sunrise

Sunrise from this last weekend at Trona Pinnacles. The Super moon was not so super because of the clouds, but that meant we had a really sweet sunrise out there.

The cloud in the background is part of those famous Sierra Wave cloud formations. The cloud literally hung around in the sky for 6 to 8 hours, with almost no movement. Only after driving north the Alabama Hills and coming back hours later had the cloud finally moved more to the south of the sky.

All comments are welcome,

Jim

Wow, this is great. I used to go to visit Trona but was not into photography then, I see so much I have missed.

Very nice, Jim. I really like your composition with the colour and shapes to great effect, along with the subtle lighting in the columns.
