A Tiny Landscape of Survival

Very cool - the cracked surface makes an interesting pattern to begin with and the flower is delightful. I am guessing that the soil is still moist below the cracked top layer - that flow looks quite healthy.

Talk about survival. What a great composition with the flower as anchor and the radiating lines.

Gee, thanks so much, Jim. This image has always been important to me, even tho I made it 12 years ago. One of those that I photographed rather casually and then got really excited when I got home and previewed my images from the trip. I love when that happens.

You are welcome Jeffrey! This is a photo that if I didn't have my house full of my own photos  I would gladly display, it's that good!

Hi Jeffrey,

It's always great when a subtle photo that tells such a strong story doesn't become clear as the favored take home image until processing. Very nice!

Very cool Jeffrey, simple, but its a wall hanger. Just goes to show that not everything impactful needs to be a sweeping vista with perfect skies.
