Welcome to FocalWorld Pep!

What a great introduction here with these. There is always something just so cool about old abandoned buildings out in the vast landscapes many of us love to explore.

My favorite is probably #1. Such incredible mood in this with those stormy skies and the peeling off paint.

#2 and 3 I like a lot too with the white color fading on the church almost giving the feeling like it's turning into a ghost. Since you have multiple shots of that, I think converting #2 to a B&W might be interesting. The clouds could be worked more to add mood, and B&W often sings with old buildings.

#4 is super cool, what a weird shape to that church as it leans and twists. Everything about the ground and sky is very nice and moody. But the church itself feels just a little muddy in the shadows. I think a layer mask to separate the church from the image to adjust the contrast on it just a bit more could make for a little improvement in it.

I will skip to #6 as I think it's the weakest of your images. It's still a nice image, but 2 things I think I see. First is the clouds are blown out a little bit in it. And Second, while fences and roads can be great for creating leading lines into an image, I think the fence and road on the left end up pulling the eye away from the church in this one. I am not sure if a simple crop of the left would change that much or perhaps a tighter crop and a little closer view of the church where the fence is left out? Perhaps going up and shooting from where the fence is, so it's in the foreground and the church is behind in the background? Just some ideas.

Again, welcome to FocalWorld, it's really awesome to have you join our community!

Delightful series - glad you posted the collection to give us a tour. I love the twisted shapes in #4 which looks like the next wind storm is going to take it down.

Welcome to FocalWorld.

How many of our ancestors went to churches like these? These are sure nice photos.

Darn, can't believe I never saw these before now. An excellent group of images....I have a soft spot for old abandon dwellings.
