After the Storm...

Monday evening (09-16-2019) I went up Cimarron to check on the progress of the leaves. A nice storm rolled in while I was up there and as it was clearing out I was surprised with a beautiful double rainbow.

(Please excuse the composition of the rainbow, I got some better shots but too many rain drops on my lens caused problems and I didn't have enough time to run back to the truck for a wipe. It moved in quickly and out just as quick.)

I wouldn't apologize for the rainbow composition. The rainbow adds enough visual weight that it overcomes any minor flaws. You could even crop up from the bottom to get rid of the stream and ground in the right corner.

Great light in both of these. Nice work!

Sweet pair of shots - I'm with Ben on the light in the second image. That is just fantastic.

I might be inclined to tart up the luminescence on the yellows down in the foreground if this were my shot.

Amy,
Both of these are really nice ! The light is beautiful in the 2nd.. I like your comp for the RB shot.
You may consider cropping just past the dark evergreen on the left.. my eye is drawn over there away from the rainbow.. lovely shot and must have been really cool to see this as it was happening. Enjoy your fall shooting looking forward to seeing what you capture.
Regards,
Dean

These sure are super cool! What super light you had, and yeah rainbows can sure come and go quickly.

It’s hard to pick favorites as both of these are super cool. I might give a slight nudge to #1, that rainbow is super cool. I like Kyles suggestion for it.

As for the rain drops, why didn’t you just pull a Kleenex out of your purse and wipe the lens clean?

I know you carry your purse when shooting, but I leave mine behind. :p Have you ever seen the inside of my purse, wallet & car keys.

Thanks Jim!
