Almost Roadkill

Found this Bobcat on return from morning ride.
Looked like a juvenile & had clearly been hit, laying in the center of the road and appeared lifeless.
No blood or guts though.
Not wanting it to become road-jerky, moved her (my guess) off the road.
Still no movement. Then she started breathing very shallow.
Then the eyes moved. After a few minutes lifted her head.
Didn't move legs.
At some point a car passed & startled the cat who then scrambled up embankment,
using mostly front legs.
Laid down to rest under vegetation.

I suspect she got "tumbled" in the undercarriage of the truck that had passed me a few minutes earlier.
No signs she was driven over,

This is how I found her

I'm happy that you were there for this cat, these animals are so important for our out-of-balance ecosystem. He probably won't make it, but thanks Dan.

Zeph, I definitely thought that but wanted to give the best chance under the circumstances. It was quite the moment when she started breathing

Nice job.
I have pictures I took several years ago of a bobcat that had been hit out by Lasal. She wasn't so lucky though. Beautiful creatures.

It does remind me of the Chris Farley movie "Tommy Boy" when they put the deer in the back of the car... That didn't end well..
