All we are is dust in the wind...Not sure I would want to be too close to the edge there with the way that cliff is undercutting.

Did you get a camp site? We got two in May, first night at Murphy's Hogback, second Night at Gssoberry. You will not regret it, hope you have good weather.Fun to see Ben. I will be taking the White Rim trail in October. Cannot wait!
That is really crazy. I mean it should not have been too hard to tell before he turned off on it that it couldn't be correct. Or at least I would think visually he should be more wary then that. It's like the people who drive into a lake and then blame the gps for it. I mean, are these people driving their vehicles with their eyes closed? All we are is dust in the wind...
So for those that have driven the Shafer Trail up or down, last weeks news was a semi trailer driver who was relying too much on his GPS to get to the Potash Plant. Well, his GPS told him to drive up into Canyonlands and then drive down the Shafer Trail in his full semi rig... Needless to say, he didn't make it. Fortunately for him he didn't topple off the side and down several hundred feet, but got stuck on a hairpin turn fairly quickly, had to undo his trailer, then tried to go down to get help. But, his cab only made it a few hundred feet further and then he was relegated to walking. He's lucky he's still alive and probably has a great story to tell his buddies, along with a gigantic towing bill.
I am gonna rough it Ben. Thank you for the weather wishes!!!Did you get a camp site? We got two in May, first night at Murphy's Hogback, second Night at Gssoberry. You will not regret it, hope you have good weather.
The Road starts off easy enough and there is even a broad turn around place where they keep the grader and road grading materials. Had he turned around or at least stopped there it might have been better. Or had he read the signs at the start.
I saw them giving out tickets to people without permits. We got asked twice on our trip and thanfkully we had permits.I am gonna rough it Ben. Thank you for the weather wishes!!!
I hear you, I saw a full size camper out there by Airport. To be perfectly honest, I'm not a fan of the constant road grooming that seems to be occurring around here, on many formerly difficult roads. The difficulty of which made these places a real adventure, not a simple sight seeing trip. Ten years ago that entire stretch was really rough and legitimately was a four wheel drive road. But these days, the harshness has been removed through constant grading and I see people in all kinds of vehicles zooming around between there and the Potash plant. I could almost see where this guy screwed up, except that by that lay down yard he should have given in to common sense over the GPS.

Good to know Ben. Thanks for the heads up.
