You scored some really nice shots from that refuge and this one is a nice addition to what you have posted so far. The avocets are among my favorite wetland birds.

Have you ever explored the Bear River farther upstream in the Cache Valley area? Springtime up there can have a lot of these guys lurking around the seasonal wetlands.

Mine too Alan, I have been to the other refuge up by Cache Valley but never found my way to the good spots. I make at least two trips each year to Christmas Meadows, but I come in via Mirror Lake. Not so many birds there when I go, but moose and beaver and deer are usually seen.
