You guys think I should crop a little off the bottom?
Hey Tom,
That's great you get to see all of these deer. I think a bit of a crop off the bottom would be nice, that would lose the couple of more OOF grasses.
The biggest issue I have with this one is the large OOF leaves on the right side. Shooting animals like this your DOF will be more shallow so there will be some out of focus areas in front and behind the animal. But for me when leaves or branches are so close to you compared to everything else, when they get OOF, they get so blurry in comparison to the rest of the scene that they become a distraction.
I think being aware of how close tree branches (or other objects) are to you and being able to sidestep to the left or right as the deer moves to maintain a clear path to shoot down is important.
