Arches in the Morning

With apologies to Ben. Not wanting to hi-jack his thread but I thought the contrast worth sharing.
This was from the road coming from and after my visit to Turret and Double Arches, on a mostly overcast morning in Dec '15.
Looking more westerly, a stray bit of sunlight lit up Balance Rock and its surrounding pillars. The pov was looking a little upward and I thought the contrast with the red rocks, somewhat gloomy sky and the snow made a nice image.

No apology required, it's good to see different takes on similar locations. You did a great job here showing it in winter with the snow and grey skys.

Nice light in this Barry. I like it when the foreground is lit and contrasts well with that stormy sky. And of course, snow is awesome.

Interesting I always love the contrast of snow and the red rocks of the Canyonlands area. I'd like to shoot Arches with some snow someday.....
I got lucky, Alan. Craig told me it snowed a couple days before I got to Moab! It was a real treat for me!
