Fortunetly there is a lot of higher terrain between where I live and the Springs. Thanks!!!I would have expected much more light pollution from the Springs. Nice backyard MW shot.
Thanks. I had to give it a shot with the light painting. It's certainly an art form I have a lot to learn. Watching Richard Tatti on youtube sure helps.Makes for a pleasant view even with the light pollution. I like the foreground lighting - just right.
Brian, nice shot, a beautiful view from the back yard.Well I waited to the end of August to try some Milky Way photo's. I went out behind the house and try this shot. The light pollution of Colorado Springs get worse and worse all the time. But I thought I'd share anyways.

Thanks Mike. I appreciate it.I really like this, the simple composition really focuses attention on the main attraction of the Milky Way.

Not bad for using an iphone.Brian, this looks great! Perfect light painting, and that's not easy. Light painting is an art form all to itself as you mentioned.
I don't really see any light pollution. There is a natural white glow on the horizon, but it's not bothersome at all. Come to California and I will show you what light pollution us.![]()
