Beaming

From Antelope Canyon near Page, Arizona last year. I wasn't expecting any beams, so it was a pleasant surprise to see them there. And of course these are made by the Navajo tour guides tossing sand up in the air which then reflect in the beam of sunlight beaming down. But that fact doesn't make these any less cool or exciting to me. :)

All comments are welcome,

Nice capture. Shows the sunlight shaft quite well and the slot shapes are nicely lit.

Nice thing about current generation DSLRs is that their weatherproofing makes cleanup after the visit much easier. For the camera that is - I had sand in my hair, all over my clothes and of course down my neck and then some.

That’s true, but I still used my little camera rain jackets on the cameras like I do when it’s raining or am at the beach.

The other thing your comment reminded me of was that back in the day, shooting this with early generation 6mp cameras I know I had to bracket with my camera on a tripod since the dynamic range in a scene like this is crazy.
