Black Canyon Sunrise

From Black Canyon of the Gunnison a few weeks back. It had snowed that night and this is a late sunrise has the sun had to burn through a few clouds. The colors got a bit more saturated, but I think that's from the snow melting on the cliff walls and getting them wet. This is from the Painted Wall overlook.

That's neat Jim. I have driven through here but never stopped for a photo. I guess when you are traveling and get here mid day it's probably not as compelling, sort of like Factory Butte.

Yeah I think midday with no clouds would be hard. It’s so deep it just turns into a dark black shadow.
