Hello all. I just purchased a new Sony A7R V 61mp camera along with the Sony 50mm f/1.2 GM lens. It’s a huge upgrade from the A7R III I had. I love the new 50mm f/1.2, it’s crazy sharp. The closeup is a crop from the full image which was shot at f/2.8. The lens is just as sharp wide open, it’s a fantastic lens. I’m on vacation so I’ll have more to share. I’m in the Texas hill country, Marble Falls area. Lots of bluebonnets and other wild flowers. Enjoy. I’ll try to start posting more here and staying in touch…

That's quite the upgrade! Congrats on this.

And you certainly put it to good use, those first 2 images are really awesome. Is #1 a crop of #2? If so, that's some really serious cropping capability! If it's not, your stealth skills are really awesome. :)

Look forward to seeing more from your new camera, you have such a great eye it will be a joy to see the journey you take us on.

Hi Jim.. thanks. Yes the close image is a heavy crop of the second image. 61mp is a lot of resolution! I’m glad I got this camera because I needed some new inspiration. However, the previous A7R 3 camera was / is still a good camera, however, overtime I guess you get dissatisfied with it, and want something newer to spark inspiration. Thanks for the compliments and I will share as much as I can. Since there’s no beautiful landscape stuff to photograph in the Beaumont area, I’ll probably be photographing people and I’ll test it out on the universe and see how well it captures the night sky. High resolution like that should show me lots of galaxies.
