Bowling Ball Cliffs

That's some really interesting looking geology along those cliffs. Almost vertical stratigraphy along the cliff face.

Nice light to illuminate it all as well.

I have driven right by that place along CA 1 and didn't even realize it was there

That is nice Kyle! I agree, there is a whole lot to shoot up there besides the bowling balls. I have also been impressed with the cliffs along that mile long beach.

If you ever come by, send me a note. My parents live 10 minutes from there and I'd be happy to join you.

Kyle, a nice take on the comp. Good timing on the light too. From a visit there a few years ago, it is fascinating geology.
What time of year to you think is best? I was thinking of late winter or early spring
Thanks
Dan

Winter seems to get the best light at sunset along the coast. This was taken in December and we had some great conditions.

I love the light and strong leading lines, and you handled the technicalities beautifully, the main issue for me is it all leads to a beautifully lit rock, and kinda stops there, no room for eye to wander and explore...

That could easily be why while I like this photo, I've never actually loved it.
