Broad Tailed Hummingbird.

I was starting to think these guys wouldn't show up with all winter hanging on (we got over 10 inches the other day). I just got home from a four day trip and they seem to be showing up more and more. I took this with my Tamron 150-600G2. I'd certainly like to hear your thoughts. This was right before sunset. They seem to be quite ok with you being fairly close.

That looks really nice Brian, it’s strange to see one actually stopped and sitting on a branch. You got some nice detail on this.

Nice - the Broad Tailed hummers look very similar to the Anna's hummingbirds we get in the NW when sitting on a branch. He looks like he is feeling a bit cool in this image with his feathers fluffed out like this.

I just learned that is how they stay warm. It has been a miserable spring here.

Anna's Hummingbirds stay in the Pacific NW all year long and I watch them near our feeders during the winter with their feathers fluffed out a lot when the temps drop down to or below freezing.
