I was dead certain I was going to get skunked this evening when the skies started getting gray but I wandered down to the beach anyway just in case. Turned out to be a Good Thing(TM) to do since I did end up getting some worthwhile colors to play with.

Hey Alan, you have had some very nice coast shots from your last outing or two, but I would say this one is the best one so far.

It looks like you have rain heading your way soon though? Are you aiming to shoot the lunar eclipse in the morning?

Thanks Jim - for my mode of travel Brookings is one of my favorite destinations along the Oregon coast. I have an open view of the Pacific from my campsite and could actually shoot the eclipse from here although down along the beach would be nicer.

We had some sprinkles last night for few hours after it got dark but I can see a lot of breaks in the clouds out to the west. It should stay dry for the rest of the week so cloud cover will be the primary factor.

Wonderful solution for places like this but ponder over your comment again as you are driving along the White Rim trail looking up at me at the rest stop envying your mobility on dirt roads in southern Utah. Everything is a tradeoff in the long run.
