I like the view with the majestic ponderosa pines featured as you have framed this scene. Just enough hoodoos to remind us where you shot this.

I like the composition. Unfortunately, the light isn't great. It looks a bit flat and washed out. Definitely a place to go back with better light.

It’s interesting you note that it appears “washed out”, when I post to this site (using iPad) images appear more desaturated.

You are posting directly from the iPad? What color space do you use? If they are in AdobeRGB (or anything other then sRGB), that could be the reason.

Another problem might be the processing tools you use, John. If you are using Lightroom the default color space is ProPhoto RGB which will give you this look on this site. To determine what color space you have go to edit >Convert to Profile and it will tell you at the top of the menu what the current profile is and below that there is a drop down menu with all of the possible profiles you can convert it to.

In Photoshop and Lightroom CC I use Adobe RGB 1998 color profile for all images and export from LRCC on my iMac using the sRGB color profile while resampling to smaller file size. I use x-rite’s Colormunki to color calibrate my iMac. I should post to Focalworld from my iMac but have been airdropping the files to my iPad to post online.
BTW, I’m a retired illustrator/graphic designer and have been using Photoshop since late 1990. I do appreciate the helpful attitudes and suggestions on this site.
UPDATE: (probably of very little interest to the reader) As noted above, I’ve observed some color differences between my iPad and my iMac for this site. After last iOS update to Catalina for my iMac my x-rite Colormunki calibration device did not function. X-rite updated their calibration software and I was able to again use my Colormunki device. I also downloaded x-rite’s ColorTRUE for the iPad and calibrated it. The observed differences have diminished but in the future I will upload from my iMac after editing.
