I had a slow, sore start to the morning after hiking to The Wave. My knees ached especially.
After savoring the hotel breakfast of eggs and bacon, I got on the road and left Kanab around 10 am. I reached the junction with Utah State Route 12 and was immediately greeted with Red Canyon, an area filled with red-orange formations I had never seen with my own eyes before. From there I drove to the entrance of Bryce Canyon National Park, more unfamiliar territory for me. It was lightly snowing upon my entrance to the park but once I reached Sunset Point, the clouds parted and allowed sunshine to bathe the scene before me. I couldn't believe my luck.
Since I had snowchains for my hiking boots that gave me traction on the icy Navajo Loop trail, I hiked down Wall Street and into the canyon!
